Banking Terms & Conditions

1. Account Opening

To open an account with BNMB, applicants must provide valid government-issued identification, proof of address, and an initial deposit as specified for the account type. BNMB reserves the right to decline any account opening application in accordance with our KYC and AML policies and regulatory requirements.

2. Transaction Limits

Daily transaction limits apply to all BNMB accounts and vary by account type, customer tier, and channel used. Limits may be adjusted based on account activity and compliance requirements. Customers may request higher limits subject to enhanced due diligence verification and approval.

3. Shariah Compliance

All BNMB banking products and services are structured to comply with Islamic Shariah principles. Savings accounts operate on a Mudarabah (profit-sharing) basis. We do not offer interest-based products. Our Shariah Supervisory Board reviews and approves all product structures and ensures ongoing compliance.

4. Fees and Charges

BNMB applies fees for certain services including account maintenance, international transfers, and card services. A current schedule of fees is available at all branches and on our website. Fees are subject to change with 30 days' notice. Shariah-compliant service charges (ujrah) replace interest-based fees.

5. Security

Customers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their PIN, passwords, and security credentials. BNMB will never ask for your full PIN or password. Customers must immediately report any suspected unauthorized access or fraudulent activity to our 24/7 card emergency line.

6. Disputes

Any disputes relating to your account or our services should be submitted in writing to BNMB's Customer Service department. We will acknowledge all complaints within 2 business days and aim to resolve them within 15 business days. Unresolved disputes may be escalated to the Central Bank of Sudan.

7. Amendments

BNMB may amend these terms and conditions at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of material changes through our website, branch notices, or direct communication. Continued use of BNMB services after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
